Songpact exists to help music creators and professionals reach clear, informed agreements before misunderstandings become disputes.
Designed by music lawyers. Built for real-world collaboration.
Most music disputes don't start with bad intentions. They start with unclear conversations, misunderstood terms, informal agreements, and missing documentation. A quick message becomes a handshake deal. A casual chat becomes a binding expectation. And by the time anyone thinks to put something in writing, the damage is often already done.
Email threads, voice notes, and generic templates are not designed for the kind of collaborative decision-making that music deals require. Rights, royalties, and ownership are too important to leave to informal communication channels that were never built to handle them.
How it works
Songpact sits between informal conversations and formal legal advice, helping collaborators make the real commercial decisions together, in plain language, before a contract is generated.
It structures the conversation itself: asking the questions that matter, explaining what the answers mean, and ensuring everyone understands what they're agreeing to.
The result is an agreement that reflects decisions collaborators have actually made, not a "fill-in-the-blanks" template, or boilerplate copied from the internet.

Dynamic agreements
There is no library of generic contracts waiting to be filled in. Each agreement is dynamically generated based on the specific terms agreed between collaborators.
Different answers produce different agreements. A simple co-write requires completely different legal mechanics to a complex producer agreement, and the resulting documentation reflects that.
This approach takes more effort than a template library. But it produces agreements that actually match what people have agreed.
Leadership
We've spent decades navigating the complexities of music law and technology. Meet the team bridging the gap between informal chats and formal contracts.

Co-Founder & CEO
For over a decade Nick has represented everyone from emerging talent to stadium-level artists on all aspects of their music careers. Having experienced the industry at every level, he recognised that the legal contracting process remained archaic and inaccessible for many. He launched Songpact to level the playing field, ensuring that professional, legally robust agreements are fast, fair, and accessible to all.

Co-Founder & CTO
Drawing on his deep experience in music technology — including his previous involvement with the massive music credit database Jaxsta — Michael leads Songpact's technical architecture. He is responsible for translating complex legal workflows into the intuitive, secure, and collaborative Q&A interface that powers the platform's dynamic agreements.
Key deal concepts like recoupment, PPD, net receipts, and royalty splits are explained as you go, so everyone understands what they're agreeing to.
Songpact doesn't simplify deals. It explains them. Agreements are structured, consistent, and legally coherent.
Managers, labels, and publishers use Songpact to save time without cutting corners.
Songpact is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. We are a technology platform that helps people structure and document their agreements, but the decisions themselves belong to the people making them.
The agreements generated by Songpact are based on user inputs and are intended to document agreed terms clearly and consistently. For complex or high-value deals, we encourage users to seek independent legal advice. The goal is not to replace professional guidance. It's to ensure that when people do seek it, they arrive with clarity about what they've already agreed.
