Submitting your first Songpact proposal to a connected Collaborator is quick and easy. Follow these steps to guide you through the process.
Step 1: Choose Your Songpact Type
Once logged in, click the Create Songpact button at the top of the screen or on your Collaborator’s profile page. Select the type of contract you need from Songpact’s suite of agreements.
Step 2: Select the Party Details
From the Artist dropdown, select your artist project. This will be automatically populated if you only have one artist project.
Choose whether you will be signing the contract personally or via a service company. If no service company is set up on your profile, you will only have the option to contract personally.
Then, from the Collaborator dropdown, select the connected Collaborators with whom you are contracting.
Step 3: Complete the Songpact Questionnaire
Songpact’s intuituve Q&A feature will walk you through the essential terms needed for the contract. This includes details such as the titles of the recordings/compositions, rights, responsibilities, and financial terms.
If you are unclear on a particular question, click on the corresponding info bubble for clarification.
Step 4: Add Comments and Clarifications
If you need to add any additional comments for your Collaborator, simply click the speech bubble next to the applicable question and include your message. This feature ensures that both parties can communicate transparently during negotiations.
Step 5: Review Example General Terms and Add Special Terms
In the final tab, review the Example General Terms that will be incorporated at the back of the agreement. Whilst the Example General Terms presented are similar to what you can expect in the final version of your Songpact, they serve illustrative purposes only. The actual General Terms included in your final Songpact will be generated based on the agreed answers to the Q&A.
If you wish to vary or remove any of the General Terms or want to add a unique clause to the agreement that has not otherwise been covered during the guided Q&A process, you can do so by adding a Special Term. Special Terms will override any conflicting General Terms, ensuring your specific agreements prevail.
Step 6: Review and Submit Your Proposal
After completing the questions, review the Songpact Proposal Summary. If any changes are needed, click Back to amend the relevant answer.
Once you are happy that the proposal is correct, click Submit Proposal to send it to your Collaborator for review. Note that 1 credit will be automatically deducted from your account upon submission of the proposal.
Once submitted, you can track its status from your Songpacts dashboard.
